Cyanosis occurs when the skin takes on a bluish or purplish hue due to poor oxygenation of the blood. It can affect the lips, fingers, or skin in general. It can be a sign of a heart or lung problem.
Don’t ignore this sign and see your doctor. Different forms of cyanosis, whether central or peripheral, indicate problems with the lungs or heart.
