Now I was dealing with the mineral deposits on the top and outside of the shower door tracks and the vertical part of the tracks. I wasn’t really sure if they would be able to tell me the truth, but I’d do the best I could.

In a small bowl, I mixed baking soda with water to make a paste. Using a rag, I applied the paste to the buildup on the top and outside of the rail, as well as the vertical portion of the rail, and left it there. I don’t remember how long I let it sit while I worked on other things, but I’d say it was probably 30 minutes. I wiped the paste off with a damp cloth, and surprisingly, a lot of it came off the first time. If your doors don’t have as much buildup as mine (and I’m sure they probably don’t), then this first cleaning may be enough.

Unfortunately, due to the lack of cleanliness, this task would have required some effort. I repeated the baking soda step again. This time, instead of wiping with a damp cloth, I used a small metal scraper and scraped away the mineral deposits. Some areas needed more than others, especially the area to the right of the top of the shower door track, next to the wall. Since there was so much deposit in this area, I had to scrape it off with a metal scraper. I repeated the baking soda process over and over again until the deposit was finally gone!
